Describe yourself and what you do.
A working mother, wife, herbalist, grower, Ayurveda aromatherapist, bookkeeper, and entrepreneur. I have over 15 years of growing cannabis experience, studied Ayurveda herbs and aromatherapy for five years, herbalist for five years, and have a college background of business management and accounting. I have worked with many dispensaries all over California including San Francisco and the Los Angeles areas.
When did you get started working with cannabis? What is your vision for your professional cannabis endeavors?
I was 18 years old and was tired of paying so much money for low quality cannabis and started growing. I then moved to California when I was 21 and started helping friends out on their farms and eventually bought my own property in the Humboldt hills. I worked for nearly 10 years with dispensaries all over California, mostly San Francisco and Los Angeles area, and provided them with quality medicinal cannabis.
My passion is to provide quality medicine to those in need and to help guide people to a healthier lifestyle. I’d like to help set the standards of proper quality cannabis cosmetic products and for all cannabis products. I love to encourage and help other entrepreneurs in the cannabis industry.
What is your personal cannabis origin story?
I was 18 and wanted to have good quality cannabis, so I decided to start growing. I finally finished college at 21 and moved to California where my beliefs of cannabis is accepted and respected. I found my passion to spread this amazing plant medicine. I love the way cannabis makes us feel, I love that cannabis brings many people together regardless of our backgrounds or color. I love how it helps people feel better about themselves, how it relieves pain, helps with nausea–I could go on and on. Cannabis is my passion, it has a special place in my heart and in my life. I’ve witnessed miracles with cannabis and I’ve also experienced the hardships and downfalls of cannabis. To me cannabis is a sacred plant medicine and I honor her in many ways and believe in her powers.
What has been your greatest obstacle in this industry or with your business to date?
My biggest obstacle is being a mother and starting a company when my son is only two years old–and maintaining the balance. Communication and wonderful support from my husband and family encourages me to continue my passion and love for cannabis in a positive way. Every day I work on obstacles, I just hope to show my son that with passion, hard work, believing in yourself, and not giving up will lead you to a successful and happy life.
“My passion is to provide quality medicine to those in need and to help guide people to a healthier lifestyle.”
What is your advice for women in the cannabis industry?
My vision for women in the cannabis industry is to support, encourage, and team up with each other. Let’s lift each other up. Network and support other women.
