Describe yourself and what you do.
I’m Chrissy, the founder and CEO of LEVO. LEVO is a device for infusing oil and butter at home, without the mess. Each day brings a new adventure, but I generally spend most of my time keeping this ship afloat and managing details of our finances, production, and manufacturing! I thrive off the feeling of productivity and love materializing an idea in my head (AKA bringing LEVO to life!).
When did you get started working with cannabis?
I had the idea for LEVO in 2011 when I had a light bulb moment watching a group of friends struggling to infuse. It took all day, was a complete mess, and the smell… let’s just say there was a lot left to be desired. I saw an opportunity for an oil infuser to transcend various industries and promote overall wellness, which I’m passionate about. We have a saying, “an herb is an herb is an herb.” There’s so much power that naturally occurs in plants and in our own bodies. I’m fascinated by the possibilities!
What is your vision for your professional cannabis endeavors?
LEVO aims to make a common issue more convenient so that more of us can incorporate plant medicine into our daily lives.
What is your personal cannabis origin story?
I had my path laid out far in advance since I was a young girl: go to this college, acquire this job, go on this employment trajectory. LEVO was NOT in that life plan. But – thanks to migraines and nerve damage in my arm – I developed a passion for discovering new, natural paths to wellness. Topicals were more effective than various prescriptions I had, as were other herbal remedies. If you can use a plant over a pill, why wouldn’t you?
What is your Superpower?
Multi-tasking is one of my specialties, for better or for worse! I do also hold a world record for speaking Gibberish very quickly…
What has been your greatest obstacle in this industry or with your business to date?
I’d say a lot of obstacles only exist in my head, until I figure out a way around them. Certainly that’s been the case for the greatest one’s I’ve dealt with to date!
There’s so much power that naturally occurs in plants and in our own bodies. I’m fascinated by the possibilities!
What is your advice for women in the cannabis industry?
New industries offer a unique opportunity to make a tremendous impact. Further, your standing is merit-based thanks to the lack of legacy and bureaucracy. I hope people of all sexes, colors, sizes, and walks of life know they are welcome and can succeed – especially in a uniquely progressive, fresh industry!
