Brittany Whiters co-founder of Revolutionary Tactics and CANNAHEALTH
“Cannabis is positively impacting lives, and this is just the beginning!”
Describe yourself and what you do.
I’m a sassy, quick-witted and strong woman who is helping get rid of the stigma of cannabis through education and advocacy.
What is your origin story for your canna business?
My partner, Ciara, and I are both registered nurses and spent some time as travel nurses, and we began to take interest in starting our own staffing company. We both had family and friends who benefited from cannabis, but more importantly, we didn’t see a connection in the cannabis industry between staffing and healthcare so we decided to create it. We didn’t have an office, so Ciara and I would meet at East Atlanta Library weekly for brainstorming and business development.
In addition, we created our digital magazine, CANNAHEALTH, as a more inclusive way to connect patients, organizations, providers and resources with one another. It has been overwhelmingly rewarding!
What is your Superpower?
Does being a woman count? I would have to say public/impromptu speaking. Although I would like to be one of the “Incredibles,” being able to speak at a moment’s notice has come in handy for business meetings and speaking in front of an audience. Even in my sorority, I was given the name “Toastmaster.”
What has been your greatest obstacle in this industry or with your business to date – and how have you overcome it?
Despite the clinical, scientific and patient outcomes, some healthcare professionals and providers are still apprehensive and skeptical of medicinal cannabis. All we can do is continue to educate them with the facts.
This is why our magazine is so helpful. It aims to educate in so many different ways: educational articles from healthcare professionals, clinic profiles and organizations and patient success stories. You get evidence from all angles! Cannabis is positively impacting lives, and this is just the beginning!
What is your vision for women in this industry?
Embrace the industry! There are so very many warm, courageous, amazing women in this industry who will welcome you with open arms.
Educate! Learn about cannabis no matter if you’re an entrepreneur, consumer or friend; be equipped with the knowledge so you can make well-educated decisions about what you consume and your health.
Invest! This doesn’t necessarily have to be money. It could be time, support or effort. Attend a local meeting, participate/attend local events or advocate at your state capitol. It’s as simple as that: Embrace, Educate, and Invest.
Together we are stronger!
